2025 Silk Road Field Residency - China

Matteo Montani has been invited to the 2025 Silk Road Field Residency in China. Organized by the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the China Academy of Art, this residency is currently taking Matteo across Gansu Province and Hangzhou, joining a select group of international and local artists for creation, cultural exchange, and academic dialogue along the legendary Silk Road. From the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, the Rainbow Mountains of Zhangye, to the Sangke Grassland, Matteo has immersed himself in China’s rich history, landscapes, and artistic traditions.
